As a food reviewer, I had the pleasure of trying some of the standout dishes at The Pepper Club. The Ube Stuffed French Toast, recommended by many customers, is a must-try for breakfast or brunch. The dish is not only visually appealing but also delivers on taste with its creamy ube flavor and perfectly toasted bread.
For those looking for something savory, the Crispy Rice with spicy tuna and avocado is a delightful choice from the raw bar menu. The combination of textures and flavors in this dish is simply outstanding.
One dish that stood out to me was the Taco Belle, a unique take on a taco with tender short rib, teriyaki jus, and gochu slaw. The flavors melded together beautifully, making it a memorable dining experience.
Overall, The Pepper Club exudes a calming vibe with its stylish decor and attentive service. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure a pleasant dining experience for every customer. Whether you're looking for a quick bite to eat or a full-course meal, The Pepper Club is the perfect destination.

I had a show in the Arts District and I decided to go early and try Todd English's restaurant in his Arts District hotel. Parking was easy there. I was seated at a round two top in as small alcove just inside the entrance. to after entering. It made for good people watching. Quite a pleasant and elegant place with some interesting wallpaper in the small alcove in which I dined. The menu is limited but there is more than enough for a large meal or just a burger. Their just a burger, however, is a lot of food. I ordered Pepper's burger. It comes with truffle fries. For dessert, I got goma dangoyaki. The burger was a bit overcooked for me. As with any beef, I like the meat rare. This was more medium well but it was good. The menu describes the dish as--8 oz Wagyu patty, bacon jam, cheddar, sunny egg, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle on a brioche bun with truffle fries. This is not a pick up and eat burger. My server, Daniel, brought a steak knife for me and I ate the burger that way. Trying to pick it up would make a mess of me and the table. There are more than enough fries and I did leave some. It would be hard to finish them all. For dessert, I ordered the goma dangoyaki. The menu describes this as--sweet mochi and glazed Japanese syrup. Sounded like it would be a small dessert and that would be fine. It seemed to take a while but then Daniel appeared with the bowl of mochi, not the small kind I expected but rather many mochi balls, fried, and then covered with the Japanese glaze and sesame seeds. They were excellent, but again, the serving was just too large to finish the dish. I probably ate less than half of them. Had I been going home, I would have asked for a box. Service was excellent. Daniel went over several options from the menu before I ordered, and he was attentive. He saw that I had gotten some egg yolk on the table. Before dessert came, he brought a cloth napkin and put it on the table to cover my egg yolk spot. The music was random and a bit loud for my liking. It ranged from choiceABBA to Elvis to artists known as "I don't know." I'll be back and try their Japanese fried chicken. It was my second choicer last night.
The place was really cute and little outside from the strip. The service was great and accommodated us very well as a large group! They have a nice variety of drink options and large portions. Their Ube French toast and JFC and waffle was the most popular. Also great for photos with the flowers outside.
OMG ! This place has been on my list for over a year! It was worth the hype! Ordered the ube french toast which seems to be the signature dish. It's definitely a dessert for breakfast dish lol. The breakfast burger was so yummy, the flavors were outstanding! For drinks we ordered the ube cocktail..can't remember the name! It was definitely the best drink I've ever had!! Highly recommend! We made reservations, not sure how long the wait would be for walk ins!
This is a really cool fancy place that exists in downtown where you don't see that often. We came here just to check it out without any expectations and I'd say it's pretty good for an upscale downtown restaurant. Before you walk in you're greeted with art on the outside which definitely gives a great downtown vibe. The variety of food they offer was pretty good as well as the types of drinks they serve. We ordered Sashimi Platter, Taco Belle and Toro Tartare. All the food was pretty standard in regard to sashimi. Taco Belle was pretty good but just know that it's pretty small so don't expect to get just one order. The vibe in the place is pretty nice since you can tell they spent a lot of effort in their decor. The place is pretty open and they also have outdoor seating as well. The only thing that may be a downfall is that their service can be slow when there's a lot of people, but other than that, its what you expect from fine dining that happens to be downtown. This place doesn't have its own parking as it is in downtown so hopefully you can get a spot close to it.
Todd English did it again!! His food is just amazing, his staff is amazing, the service impeccable and of course the inside is so stylish and I love the open kitchen. Food: Octopus- DELICIOUS! A fave. It comes with Fingerling potatoes. The octopus is tender and flavorful. Taco Belle- I'm obsessed! I want more. It's the perfect little bite that packs a punch. Crispy Rice- this was probably the best crispy rice I ever had. The spicy tuna is smooth and gives a beautiful silky texture on the tongue and the spicy is well balanced.
The walk to the restaurant set the tone with huge trees and bougainvillea hugging the walkway, as you pass the pool. Fabulous trendy modern decor and friendly casual service. Food presentation is gorgeous. Flavors have a hint of Asian influence. A must try are "all" the Apps and we each had the short ribs. Great happy hour prices - Apps are $12 until 7pm. Best kept secret in town.
